You won’t be able to look through my portfolio long before coming across a plethora of cats. Interestingly, I have never had a pet cat, only one in my childhood that was called Klips. Klips had to be taken away when my brother was born due to his asthma, and ever since have longed for a cat. Since marrying my husband, we have found out that he too has an allergy to cats, so I may never be able to live out my dream of having a pet cat. Why this oversharing of personal history you might be thinking. Because it might explain why I insist on drawing them.

These cats were based on stray cats that I saw in Rhodes, Greece. I couldn’t decide on the colours for this piece. I liked how it looked in the black and white, then I added a nice pink background and I liked that too. Then I coloured them all in and I also really liked that.
